Who we are at Jacobean Kitchens
For over two decades, our family has been designing and building custom kitchens right here in St. Thomas, Ontario. We understand that every home—and every family—is different. That’s why we take the time to guide you through the entire process, delivering cabinetry that combines lasting beauty with real value.
Our 6-step process
Years of experience has brought us to this process.
1. First Contact and Onsite Measure
When you reach out (By text, phone or email), we’ll have a quick chat to understand what you’re looking for.
If it’s cabinetry-related — kitchens, vanities, or built-ins — we’ll schedule a home visit to measure and discuss your layout and style preferences. If you prefer doing it online you can fill out our Discovery Form.
2. Design
After the initial contact, your measurements and notes go back to our shop for design.
Our 3D designer creates preliminary drawings based on your space.
We’ll send you the design and work with your feedback until it’s close to what you want.
Once we’re aligned, we prepare a detailed quote if you haven’t received one yet. See this link to view our past projects.
4. Approving the Quote
When you’re happy with the design and ready to move forward, we’ll ask for a 50% deposit.
That confirms your spot in our schedule.
If you have a specific deadline, we’ll plan around it — otherwise, we’ll keep the project flexible until you’re ready to proceed.
5. Shop Visit and Final Selections
We invite you to come out to review your project designs and meet our designer.
You can see and feel your finishes, handles, colors, and panel details, and we’ll give you a tour of our workspace.
It’s a great way to finalize the project before we start building.
6. Start Building
Before production starts, we may re-measure if renovations have changed your space. We go over the design to make sure all the details are correct to what you specified.
We then order materials and begin building — usually about 1-4 weeks before install depending on project size.
7. Installation and Payment
Our team delivers and installs your cabinetry, usually over 2–3 days depending on size.
We handle adjustments, align everything, and leave the space clean and ready to use. Once installation is complete, the final balance payment is due.
We don’t usually schedule a follow-up visit, but we’re always available if you have questions or need minor adjustments later on. We may ask for photos of your new space to showcase on our website and socials. Our goal is simple — a smooth process and a finished space you’ll love. Get Started.
